Veterinarian

Dr Ursula

Dr Ursula has been a veterinarian for over 20 years and a student for longer. She took the long route when becoming a vet, completing degrees in Biology and Aquaculture before a degree in Veterinary Science. She then completed a Master of Veterinary Medicine through Massey University before completing the exams for Membership to the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in Small Animal Radiology. In 2021, Ursula undertook a year as an intern in veterinary oncology through the Animal Referral Hospital. More recently Ursula completed further study in small animal cardiac ultrasound after completing the Veterinary Cardiologists Australia course last year. Wanting to pass on her knowledge, Dr Ursula has since taught at the University of Adelaide and the University of Queensland and is currently teaching imaging at James Cook University. She and her husband have two beautiful daughters, and a house full of animals, including two dogs, a cat, a lizard, five chickens, too many fish to count and, until recently, two spiders (they may still be in the house somewhere, she says).
