What is pathology?
Pathology is using various methods to figure out what is causing an illness or injury as well as it’s effects on your pet. Some of the methods used can include blood tests, urine tests, ultrasound, x-rays and more. Being able to diagnose your pet on site means it can be treated sooner which usually gives a better chance of success. On-site pathology means that many results are received straight away without having to wait for tests to come back from external services. Most tests are available within a few minutes. More specialised testing can take up to 24 hours. Biopsies may take up to 2 weeks for results.
